Jesus Appears: The Holy One Calls Us To Be Holy

Fifth Sunday after Epiphany

The season of Epiphany in the church is the time Jesus “appears” on the scene and “reveals” who he is and why he came. He came to be so much more than a random carpenter’s son. God’s Word makes it clear: this is God’s Son, our Savior.

Our worship over the next weeks will follow this pattern:

Jesus Appears: the Lowly One calls us to be lowly
Jesus Appears: the Holy One calls us to be holy
Jesus Appears: the Honored One calls us to honor the Father
Jesus Appears: the Transfigured One calls us to witness his glory.
